Vanguard, sample business

Vanguard onboarding page: one sample client's progress across viewed, signed, deposit and intake, with the next step.

Built on

  • Next.js
  • Stripe

Where it lands

  • A private client page
  • Email drafts

You don't need

Slack or Notion. It lands where you already work.

01The problem

The yes is the easy part

The client says yes on the call. Then comes the deposit, the written quote, the intake questions and the logins, each in its own email. A week later you are still chasing the one piece that stops the work from starting.

Without it

  • Three emails to start. An invoice, a quote and a questionnaire, sent separately.

  • Paid, then quiet. The deposit lands and the intake never comes back.

  • Answers scattered. Logins in one email, brand files in another.

  • A cold welcome. The first message after the yes is an invoice.

With Pad

  • One link. Deposit, quote and intake on one private page.

  • A clear checklist. The client sees what is done and what is left.

  • Filed in one place. Every answer saved in the new client's onboarding packet.

  • A real welcome. A welcome note drafted for your yes, with what happens next.

02How it works

Five steps. The last one is yours.

Every run follows the same five steps. Nothing it writes goes out until a named person approves that exact draft: Tony on our own brands, and on yours, the person you name at setup.

  1. 01

    You win the work

The Project Quote is written and the client says yes.

  2. 02

    It builds their page

A private link with the quote, the deposit button and the intake form.

  3. 03

    It drafts the welcome

A welcome note with the link, waiting as a draft in the approval queue for your yes.

  4. 04

    The client works through it

They pay the deposit, accept the quote and answer the intake, in any order.

  5. 05

    You see it done

Acceptance and intake answers save to the client's packet, the deposit is confirmed by reading it back from Stripe, and the build starts when you say so.

  • A private client page. One private link per new client.

  • The intake formYour questions, answers saved in the client's packet.

  • The welcome draftA fixed template with the private link, held in the approval queue until you approve it, before the client sees anything.

  • A status checkOne view of what each new client has done and what is left.

  • A plain English guide and a walkthrough video

  • Fixes and updates included for as long as you're on the care plan

05Who it's for

Service businesses that sign clients on a call and need a deposit, an agreement and information before work starts. Studios, agencies, and service firms that sell builds or retainers.

It fits if

  • You sell on a call and then send an invoice and a quote separately.
  • You take a deposit before work starts.
  • You need information or logins from the client before you can begin.
  • Clients have ever paid and then gone quiet on the paperwork.
  • You'd rather not add Slack or Notion to run it. You don't need either.

Not for you if

You sign a couple of clients a year, or you sell through a checkout page with no agreement. Want the call itself written up before the portal goes out? That's Call Desk.

Proof

06Install Pad

Live in 7 days. Then we run it for you.

One setup, then one monthly line. The final number comes in writing on a Project Quote before anything is built.

Setup · Growth build

$7,500 to $12,000

One time. We install it, connect it to your accounts and make it yours.

  • A short call to confirm it fits
  • Connected to your tools and set up on your brand's rules
  • Tested on your real data, with every send held as a draft, before it goes live
  • A plain English guide and a walkthrough video

Then monthly · Maintain care plan

$750/mo

We host it, watch it and fix it, so you never have to.

  • Hosted, monitored and backed up by us
  • Fixes and updates included
  • Changes as your business changes, one request at a time
  • Usage (AI, SMS) is billed at cost, on its own line
What the care plan covers
  • Terms. 50% deposit to start the build. The care plan is billed monthly in advance, with a minimum of 3 months. The final number is issued in writing on a Project Quote before anything is built.
  • Your data. Your logins and keys stay in your own account settings, kept out of our code. Hosted and monitored by TDR. Every number the engine shows carries its source, or it says "not on file".
  • Owner-operated. Tony Del Rio, Director of TDR Digital, signs off every install before it goes live. Written response times are part of your care plan agreement.
  • Nothing sends without your yes. Every message it writes waits as a draft in the approval queue, and nothing goes out until a named person approves that exact draft. On our own brands that is Tony. On yours, it is the person you name at setup.
  • Bills to your own accounts. Stripe.

07Questions

Before you book.

What does it cost to run each month?

The Maintain care plan, $750/mo, covers hosting, monitoring and fixes. The welcome note is a fixed template, so there is no AI usage. Stripe's card fees stay on your own account.

How long does setup take?

About 7 days. It connects your Stripe account, and the deposit link and the paid check are tested in Stripe test mode before a real client sees it.

What do you need from me?

Your Stripe account, your quote template, your intake questions, and your brand files.

What does it never do?

It never sends the welcome note without your yes, never charges a card the client did not choose to pay, and never shows a price that is not on your written quote.

Can it take e-signatures?

Not in this version. The client accepts the quote on the page and the acceptance is recorded with the date. A signing tool can be added on request.

08For agencies and operators

Resell Pad to your clients.

If you run more than one business, or you serve clients who need the same thing, we install any engine in this catalog for each of them, then run it and fix it behind you.

  • Their name on every message. Your client's messages go out in their name and voice, and every draft carries their own signature.
  • Your client's accounts. Installed on each client's own accounts, connected to their own data.
  • We do the work. Setup, hosting, fixes and updates stay with us, one monthly line per client.
  • Their yes, every time. Every message still waits as a draft until the person your client names approves that exact draft.

Partner terms, including whether the client screens carry your name and logo, are agreed in writing on the partner call.

Next step

See if it fits.

Thirty minutes on a call. Bring the job that eats your week, and we will tell you whether Pad fits, or that nothing in the store does yet. If it fits, the number comes in writing.
